What we're watching
We don't put a name on this page on a rumor. Somebody was arrested, or somebody filed, or a board pulled a license, or a judge ruled. That's the bar, and every line below links to the record that clears it.
Three words next to each name. Active means we are taking calls on it now. Watching means the record is real but something is still moving, a hospital not yet named, a bill stuck in a committee, and we are collecting names so nobody scrambles later. Closed means the pool is gone, settled or barred, and we say so rather than let you find out the hard way. Records move; the date is how fresh each line is.

About thirty former residents in consolidated Cook County cases; the 1985 Friese conviction; no deadline for most claimants born after 1983.
A Champaign County jury awarded a 13-year-old patient $535M in March 2024; cut to $180M, then reported settled. Trial evidence described a dozen assaults 2015–2020. No deadline for minors under Illinois law; no cap.
Louisiana
Arrested June 2026, four counts; two suits name the hospital and Ochsner over 34- and 41-day notification delays.
New Jersey
License suspended Nov 2024; 31 women sued July 2026. Watching for a hospital defendant.
New York
