What happened to you at Sierra Vista was not okay.

Sierra Vista Hospital on Bruceville Road is the 120-bed psychiatric hospital where Sacramento sends its kids in crisis. In August 2025 seven people who had been patients there as teenagers sued it, and between them they named eight staff members. In March 2026 more filed. The complaints say the hospital saw the warning signs, and that it hid what staff had done before. If you were a patient there, or your child was, this is about you.

The Sierra Vista cases are open: seven former teenage patients filed in Sacramento in August 2025, more followed in March 2026, and nothing has been decided. Anyone who was on that unit and never came forward can still be part of this.

• A staff member touched you, said things, stood where he had no business standing. That is what the seven who filed describe, and it is what the law calls sexual battery and harassment, whether or not anything else happened.
• It was more than one of them. Eight names in one complaint says something about the building, not about you.
• Somebody reported it and the person stayed. A technician sued this hospital back in 2013 saying he was fired for reporting staff assaults. The pattern is the case.
• It was years ago. California's deadline for anyone abused as a minor runs to age 40, or five years from the day you understood what it did to you.
• You were there in 2024 or later. For that there is no deadline at all.

Who can be held responsible in a Sierra Vista Hospital lawsuit

Start with the company. Sierra Vista is a Universal Health Services hospital, and UHS runs more psychiatric beds than anyone in the country; the complaint against its hospitals, in California and out of it, tends to read the same way. Staff abuse a patient. Someone reports it. Nothing changes. A staff member who hurts a patient answers for himself; a hospital that saw the signs and kept him on answers for all of it.

In California, where a cover-up is proven in a childhood case, a jury can award three times the damages. That is written into the statute, and it is exactly what the seven complaints allege.
